The King’s Trust Programme at SEVA

We are proud and fortunate to run the King’s Trust Programme here at SEVA. The King’s Trust, formerly known as The Prince’s Trust, is a well-respected UK based charity that supports young people aged 11 to 30. It helps them build confidence, gain new skills, and access education, employment, or training. The programme is widely recognised for its ability to empower young people through practical learning and personal development opportunities, placing emphasis on teamwork, communication, and real-world application of skills.

At our school, the King’s Trust Programme has been a valuable part of our curriculum offer for several years. It is primarily delivered as a targeted intervention programme and is particularly beneficial for students who may need additional support in areas such as English and maths. Through a range of project-based tasks, teamwork activities, and reflective learning, pupils not only work on their core academic skills but also develop important social and emotional competencies. The course is facilitated by trained staff who ensure that students are supported throughout, and that learning is meaningful, engaging, and closely aligned with real life scenarios.

The impact of the King’s Trust Programme on our pupils is consistently positive and far reaching. Many students leave the course with improved self-esteem, stronger communication skills, and a renewed sense of purpose. Pupils often speak about feeling more confident and prepared for their next steps, whether that’s moving on to sixth form, college, an apprenticeship, or employment. The qualification is nationally recognised and valued by further education providers and employers alike, not only because of the skills it represents but also because it reflects a student’s ability to work collaboratively, manage their time effectively, and overcome challenges. By learning practical life skills such as budgeting, problem solving, and decision making, our students are better equipped to face the future with ambition and resilience.
